The Answers You Need

How fast can our EBike go?

With a full charge, our ebike will go up to 50km/h.

Do I have to pedal to get assisstance on our ebike?

With our ebike you have the option to pedal and get assistance or just use the throttle. The level of assistance can be set in levels 1-5.

Do I need a bike licence to ride an ebike on the roads?

No, you do not need a license to ride an ebike on the roads. You do however need to wear a helmet and adhere to all traffic laws.

How long will a charged ebike battery typically last?

The range depends on many factors, riding conditions, riding style, and even tyre pressure. With a 2x 48V 22ah li-ion battery, the largest battery capacity e-bike available, you can expect to ride 90-100km with throttle only and a lot more when riding with pedal assist on a low level.

How do I charge my e-bike?

You will receive a battery charger for each battery. You can charge the batteries by plugging the charger into the battery charge port on the bike or take the batteries off of the bike and charge them in a convenient safe place.

Why are some electric bikes so much cheaper than others?

There are a couple of factors that set ebikes apart. The big difference is in the battery capacity and motor size. We pride ourselves in having the largest battery capacity and motor size available and still being priced below competitors with half the battery capacity.

We make sure to offer you the best of the best with unmatched features like hydraulic disc brakes, aluminum frames and forks, colour display, brake lights, indicators, and alarm systems to name a few.

Can the ebike be ridden with a flat battery?

Yes, the ebike will function as a normal bicycle and require you to do all the pedalling without the help of the electric motor.

What is the lifespan of an electric bike battery?

The batteries can be charged and discharged 500-800 times. With a range of around 100km per charge, you will be able to ride around 50 000km before needing a replacement. Please note that proper operation and care is essential to the long life of your battery.

What are watt hours (Wh) and what do they mean in real life?

Watt hours (or Wh) refers to the energy capacity of your bike’s battery and provides an indication as to its likely range.

A battery’s Wh will also show how many watts it is able to continuously provide for an hour: for example, a 250Wh battery can provide 250 watts of assistance for one hour, 125 watts for two hours, and so on. Of course, real-world riding means you are very unlikely to place such a consistent demand on your ebike’s battery.

Ultimately, how far an electric bike will go on a single charge depends on where you’re riding, the weather, how much of your own effort you are putting in and the assistance level you’ve selected.

A fit rider who selects a low assistance level on flat roads will get a lot more range than a less fit rider on a hilly route carrying luggage and selecting the maximum motor assistance. All of this has an impact on how much load you are putting on the battery.

Watt-hour (Wh) is calculated by multiplying the number of Amps with the battery voltage.
